Barcelona Ready for First Fixture at Renovated Camp Nou over the weekend
Barcelona have announced they are set to host at the still-under-construction Camp Nou this Saturday. Athletic Bilbao will visit the Bilbao team in La Liga 30 months following their departure so building work could begin.
“Returning home was our dream. Finally, it’s happening. We are back at Spotify Camp Nou.”
The stadium will not be at full capacity though over 45,000 attendees will be allowed to watch based on approved permits. When completed, the stadium’s capacity will reach close to 105,000 fans, a rise from the old capacity. Barça announced completed upgrades featured a renovated tunnel for players and new dressing rooms.

The club conducted an open training session on the home pitch earlier this month. The club said approval is being pursued from European football’s governing body to host the next European match facing Eintracht on 9 December in the renovated venue. Previous fixtures took place at Estadio Olímpic Lluís Companys.
