American-Palestinian Adolescent Freed After 270 Days in Israeli Imprisonment

An Palestinian-American adolescent having endured 270 days in imprisonment by Israel absent formal charges gained freedom.
The teenager Mohammed Ibrahim was fifteen years old at the time of his arrest last February within the occupied West Bank, where he was visiting on holiday from Florida for allegedly throwing stones against settlement residents, allegations he repeatedly contested.
United States authorities applauded the teenager's freedom.
Currently aged sixteen, needed medical care for treatment immediately after release, family members reported.
According to them, he appears pale, underweight, while battling health issues acquired while detained.
In a statement, Mohammed's uncle conveyed their "immense relief".
Zeyad Kadur described how relatives endured "enduring a dreadful, continuous nightmare" during the entire detention period.
"At this moment, our priority is providing Mohammed with the immediate medical attention necessary for his recovery following exposure to mistreatment by authorities and cruel circumstances throughout his detention."
The state department stated they would maintain to extend consular services for the Ibrahim family.
{"The Trump Administration has no higher priority than the safety and security of American nationals"," officials stated.
Several congressional representatives endorsed a document to diplomatic officials and the White House, urging greater action to release him.
Mr Ibrahim, with four children operating an ice cream shop based in Tampa, previously claimed his son only confessed about rock throwing due to physical abuse.
There were no visits or communicated with his son since the arrest, and only heard about his son's condition in detention through court documents.
He stayed absent formal charges within Ofer penitentiary in the West Bank.
The facility also contains mature inmates, including individuals found guilty regarding severe security violations and homicide.
An estimated 350 Palestinian minors in security custody being held in Israeli jails, based on prison authority data.

After the teenager's freedom, Mr Kadur said the family would also continue fighting for justice for his cousin their cousin Sayfollah.
